Short Movie Review: Lucky Number Slevin
I want to believe this movie was pitched as: “The Usual Suspects has a baby with Mystery Date, but the neighbors kind of suspect that the father was really Hudson Hawk.” I love all three of those movies, so aside from the dubious morality and a shock for shock’s sake near the end, I really enjoyed this one.

A flashy and stylistic movie that was pretty good, if somewhat predictable at points (the “twist,” for example). I enjoyed it as well, though I think that part of that enjoyment came from the sheer absurdity of some parts of the film. Jason Smilovic, the film’s writer, was also responsible for Kidnapped, one of my favorite new shows of the season.
