I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork…how have you been?
Grosse Pointe Blank remains one of my favorite films of all time, so you can understand why my jaw about hit my chest when I saw a link on Ain’t It Cool that claimed to be for a forthcoming sequel.
War, Inc. isn’t really a sequel, though from the look of it perhaps you could call it a “spiritual successor.” John Cusack plays a suspiciously Martin Blank like role, and his sister Joan plays a role uncannily like that of Blank’s assistant Marcella. I love the fact that their agency is called Tamerlane (Tamerlane was a 14th century Mongol warlord, perhaps most famously immortalized in a Christopher Marlowe play, Tamburlaine the Great).
Marisa Tomei appears to fill the Minnie Driver role, Ben Kingsley looks to be a friend/foe along the lines of Dan Aykrod’s character, and Hilary Duff of all people rounds out the cast as a Central Asian pop star. Just go watch the trailer for yourself.
