Adobe finally made its “Reader” program relatively attractive in its new version 8 for Mac (haven’t seen the Windows version). It is ironic that a company known for its graphics software had a PDF reader that was a visual monstrosity—clunky, overloaded with buttons, annoyingly flashing ads in the corner. I have no idea how long version 8 has been out, though, because version 7 just kept asking me every day to update to newer iterations of version 7…
