Xbox Friends Widget, Part II
You might recall that I recently wished aloud for a Mac Dashboard widget that would list the availability and status of my friends on Xbox Live. Well, Jacob took that task upon himself, and has made a very pretty widget indeed. Actually, it’s exactly what I wanted:

The tricky part, now, is debugging the thing. He’s done some work in Actionscript, but Jacob’s still somewhat new to Javascript. Currently the widget has got a memory leak problem (which may have caused it to crash), and in the latest version, I had trouble getting it to list the names I entered (though Jacob got it to work).
So, if you have any interest in helping see this through to its conclusion, send an email to jason at this domain. This is history in the making, people.

Hey Jacob,
I had this idea for a Word processing program, any chance you’d like to add that to your TO-DO list. Nothing fancy, just like, all the features in the Microsoft Word 2007, but you know, smaller and with better UI. :)
Just kidding. It’s cool that you did that for Jason.

My TODO list is fast expanding towards the eventual heat death of the universe. But I’ll put it on there anyway, just in case I get put in a sexy robot body and end up having that time at my disposal.
Anybody who wants to take on finishing this project is welcome to it. There’s a zipped up Dashcode project waiting to be sent to you. The functional part of this is done, but debugging Javascript is not something I’m good at, nor is it something I want to become good at.

Or is it the big crunch that’s the popular working hypothesis in cosmology these days? I don’t know, I just want that sexy robot body. Yum.

In all honesty, the last book about cosmology that I read was in high school. I do like the idea of the big crunch, although I’m suprised that Nestle ponyed up to sponsor the end of the world. Maybe they are angry at Mars for getting into Douglas Adam’s second book. (Many that is a geeky, candy joke attempt.)
C PS. Jacob your current body isn’t a robot one? Hmmm…I guess I lost that bet.

[...] Live Friends were doing at any given time. First, Jacob answered with a mockup, and once again I asked if anybody wanted to help finish it [...]
