Making Football Nerdier

I would like football better if more teams abandoned repetitive, predictable plays in favor of zany carnage backed up by solid math. (Link via The Morning News.)

I have to say I really apreciate Ultimate and the adaptiveness of play styles. You still see the standard stack and cup for zone defense as the basics most beginners start with, but many temas I ahve played on or against have developed new stragies that evolve and change in ways I don’t really see in any other sports. Maybe Ultimate hasn’t been around long enough to settle on the “best” strategy but it will be kind of boring if/when it does…
