Short Movie Review: Moon

This movie is about some guys on the moon who try to make the best out of an awkward situation. It was okay.

Wow, that certainly was short.

I really wanted to see this in the theater, but by the time I learned about it, it already wasn’t showing.

It’s a rental. This is the rare movie for which I have no major complaints, but nor do I have glowing praise. Simple concept, decently executed, somewhat predictable once the plot starts to unfold.

I quite enjoyed this movie when I saw it in the theaters. Very enjoyable Sci-fi, Kevin Spacey was great. Plot seemed somewhat predictable to me, but at the same time, I was consistently more paranoid than the movie was: it kept me thinking that more would happen than was meets the eye, which meant that I was somewhat surprised when it didn’t. Alternately, one could say that it built tension quite well despite not necessarily justifying that tension.

Yeah, actually, Evan’s short review is better than mine. That was pretty much my experience of it too (especially Kevin Spacey being great, despite never appearing on screen). I’m not sure I wanted more to happen—I mean, it is what it is—but I too thought it would explore a little more deeply some of the “weird stuff” going on.

As a side note, the movie was visually quite stunning, and the shots of the lunar surface and the accompanying music/sound effects were awesome.
