What Do I need to Get Started?

Wiki Accounts and Finding your way around the wiki

We will be using this wiki again for the 2007 hunt, you can find 2007 information below as well as links to all the old 2006 materials. To receive an account email Tony at tony@doombot.com with your full name etc. By default your user name will be your first name if that is available. You cannot view any of the pages of this wiki except this first page without an account.

Once you have a wiki account you will also have a user page (see list of user pages).

Please do the following:

• Edit your user page to include your contact information and something about you. (example user pages: User:Jeremy User:Tony User:Armenb etc.
  • (To edit you page simply go there and click the edit button in the menu bar at the top of the page, you can copy and paste the code from another users page if that makes thing easier for you, you may also wish to check out Andria's Tutorial and guide to wiki editing.)
• Add yourself to the 2007 Team Roster !
• If you are on site please look through the supplies page, if you are remote please take a look at and add yourself to the remote info page.
• Whether you are a remote or on-site Hunter, please add your cell phone number

Please make sure to do all of this before the Hunt starts, the wiki is a critical part of our communications during the hunt so we need information about who is who, where you are, and how to contact you, as well as who is working on what onsite.

This will also serve as practice/refresher in basic wiki use. If you're having issues figuring out how to find your way around the wiki let one of us know and we'll give you some tips, once we get going with it during the hunt you'll pick it up fast!

Please join the Yahoo Group Lake Effect Snow to facilitate emailed communication. If you've already gotten an email about it, follow the directions in the email. Otherwise you can send an email to lake_effect_snow-subscribe@yahoogroups.com to be added automatically.

2007 Hunt Planning

Lake Effect Snow HQ has been announced as room 26-210 for working and Room 26-142 as secondary/quietplace/sleep-area, etc.

The 2007 Mystery Hunt begins at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 12th in Lobby 7.

I will be (hopefully) setting up equipment and supplies at our HQ as early as t-minus 90 minutes (10:30 AM EST). If you're available, please come early to help setup - it saves time later! Ken

It seems that many folks are going to be coming in from out of town. If you are, you may want to see if your Travel plans line up with anyone else's. -Tortoise

Whether you're flying in from Lehigh Valley or crawling over from Random Hall, you should probably take a look at the supplies page. -Tortoise

We would really like to eliminate some of the snafus we've had in dealing with remote hunters, so please check out our communications page. We'd love it if you'd sign up to help out for an hour or four. -Tortoise
