What Do I need to Get Started?
Wiki Accounts and Finding your way around the wiki
We will be using this wiki for the 2008 hunt, you can find 2008 information below as well as links to all the old 2006-2007 materials from Lake Effect Snow. To receive an account email Tony at tony@doombot.com with your full name and preferred email indicated. By default your user name will be your first name if that is available. You cannot view any of the pages of this wiki except this first page without an account.
Once you have a wiki account you will also have a user page (see list of user pages).
Please do the following:
- Edit your user page to include your contact information and something about you. (example user pages: User:Jeremy User:Tony User:Armenb etc.
- (To edit you page simply go there and click the edit button in the menu bar at the top of the page, you can copy and paste the code from another users page if that makes thing easier for you, you may also wish to check out Andria's Tutorial and guide to wiki editing.)
- Add yourself to the 2008 Team Roster !
- If you are on site please look through the supplies page, if you are remote please take a look at and add yourself to the remote info page.
Our team for 2008 is smaller than previous years so we will probably be less reliant on it, but it will still be an important place to jot down notes on in progress puzzles, keep our two remote groups organized, and prepare thing for the mystery hunt in terms of supplies.
This will also serve as practice/refresher in basic wiki use. If you're having issues figuring out how to find your way around the wiki let one of us know and we'll give you some tips, once we get going with it during the hunt you'll pick it up fast!
Mailing List
We will have a mailing list soon, first we need to figure out a team name. The mailing list will probably be hosted via Google Groups unless there is a better way to go about doing that.
